The clients brief was to take the existing 1950’s property and create a larger family home suitable for modern living.

The design had to be sympathetic to the conservation area but also had to be cost efficient to run, whilst utilising the plot size.

The final design was a wrap around extension giving the house a symmetrical look from the front and increasing the living space to the rear.

To minimise the long term running costs and energy usage the design used of a carefully designed heating system mixing underfloor heating downstairs with individually controlled radiators upstairs along with solar thermal hot water.

High efficiency LED Lighting has been used virtually throughout the entire property and a rainwater recovery system supplies all the toilets and washing machines.
